Srinagar, Jan 26: The former jurist Mohammad Amin Puktha passed away after a brief illness at his Srinagar residence on the intervening night of Thursday-Friday, family sources said.
Jurist Mohammad Amin Puktha according to family members was in his seventies and was not keeping well from some time.
Family said that on the intervening night of Thursday-Friday, he passed away at his Srinagar residence.
Originally hailing from north Kashmir’s Sopore, the news of Jurist Puktha’s demise has elicited widespread mourning, with a large number of people participating in his funeral prayers at HMT.
He was later laid to rest at the graveyard situated near Friends Colony HMT in Srinagar.
Described by local community members as a “pious, down-to-earth” individual, Puktha’s untimely passing has left the community, family, and friends in shock.
“The legacy of his legal contributions is remembered with reverence by those who knew him closely”, said one of his relative.
“Puktha Sb was a pious, down to earth. His untimely death has shocked the whole community, family and friend circle”, local community members said (KNO)
