New Delhi, January 19: The prestigious PradhanMantriRashtriyaBalPuraskar (PMRBP) for 2024 was announced on Thursday, recognizing exceptional achievements of children aged 5-18 in seven categories.
A teenager, Ishfaq Hamid from J&K has also figured in the list for his exceptional achievements in the art and culture.
Ishfaq Hamid is a maestro of Rabab and Matka and is recognized for his outstanding contributions in elevating Rabab playing and promoting the rare traditional art globally.
He received accolades during the 13th Kashmir festival and Guru Nanak Devji’s 550th PrakashParv. He has also been honored with the BhaiMardana National Award 2020 by NGO Sarhad.
The awards, including a medal, certificate, and citation booklet, will be conferred by the President of India at VigyanBhawan on 22nd January 2024.
Nineteen outstanding children from across the country have been selected for their accomplishments. The categories include Bravery, Art & Culture, Environment, Innovation, Science & Technology, Social Service, and Sports. The awardees, comprising 9 boys and 10 girls from 18 States and UTs, will meet Prime Minister NarendraModi on 23rd January 2024. They will also participate in the Republic Day parade on 26th January 2024.

The Prime Minister will engage with the awardees during the interaction, providing them with an opportunity to share their remarkable stories and experiences.
The President of India DroupadiMurmu will confer the PradhanMantriRashtriyaBalPuraskar, 2024 to 19 exceptional children in an award ceremony, which will take place at VigyanBhawan on 22nd January 2024.
