Union Ministers attend Hajj, Umrah Conference in Jeddah   

Jeddah, KSA: Union Minister for Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs, Smriti Zubin Irani, along with Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, V. Muraleedharan, led a delegation to the inaugural session of the Hajj and Umrah Conference and Exhibition organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia at Jeddah.

This participation was part of their ongoing visit to Saudi Arabia, during which the Bilateral Haj Agreement for Haj 2024 was signed between India and Saudi Arabia on January 7.

The Hajj and Umrah Conference and Exhibition is an annual international event, and its 3rd edition is scheduled from January 8-11, 2024, in Jeddah. This global conference features sessions, workshops, and training seminars by key decision-makers, experts, academics, and researchers.

The event is attended by ministers and officials from diverse locations worldwide, along with the presence of over 200 entities representing both private and public entities engaged in the Hajj and Umrah sector.

The delegation, led by the Minister of Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs, attended the inaugural session of the conference, providing valuable insights into global best practices and facilitating the exchange of ideas and information. This exchange aims to enhance the Haj experience for Indian pilgrims.

On the sidelines of the conference, a meeting took place between Smriti Zubin Irani, V. Muraleedharan, and the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, H.R.H. Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The meeting, also attended by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, focused on exploring further cooperation and collaboration with Saudi Arabia to improve facilities and services for Indian Haj pilgrims during Haj 2024.
