Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police booked three most wanted and notorious drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla and lodged them in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority.
The most wanted and notorious drug smugglers namely Suhail Ahmad Sofi son of Ghulam Hassan, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad both residents of SolindaKhaiporaTangmarg&Waseem Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Sultan resident of WatalporaTangmarg have been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority. The booked drug smugglers have been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu.
Pertinent to mention here that many cases are registered against these drug smugglers and they were involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Tangmarg areas & other areas of the District. Despite their involvement in many FIR’s they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
General public of Baramulla appreciated the role of Police for their action against drug peddlers. Baramulla Police consistent actions against the drug peddlers should reassure the community members that Baramulla police is making all efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse.
