Srinagar: In the wake of the dense fog, Railway authorities Tuesday appealed to people to refrain from walking on or crossing railway tracks in Kashmir Valley.
A Railway official said that the prevailing foggy conditions in Kashmir Valley have been hampering the visibility.
“It is for the safety of the people that they don’t come close to railway tracks and exercise caution,” the official said.
“Dense fog creates low visibility which impacts the train services. It can also prove fatal for those who cross the tracks or come close as due to fog it becomes sometimes difficult for train operators to see signals.”
Important to note that Railway services experienced brief disruptions twice on Monday and Tuesday due to dense fog. Locals reported trains running 15 minutes behind schedule, but no cancellations occurred.
