“Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” : SMC organizes cleanliness drive in twin wards  

Srinagar: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Sunday organized a significant cleanliness drive, as part of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative.

As per a statement issued here, the spokesman said the drive took place in Zone East Ward No.04. Bondook khar Mohalla Rainawari and North  Ward No.15, Old Road  Pandach with a focus on enhancing cleanliness and hygiene in these specific areas of the city.

Led by the Chief Sanitation Officer, Zonal Sanitation Officer, and other dedicated officers from the SMC, the drive aimed to uplift the overall cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the selected zones.

The main activities carried out during the drive included the efficient lifting and disposal of garbage, as well as the removal of unwanted grass and vegetation.

The Srinagar Municipal Corporation’s objective behind organizing such initiatives is to create a cleaner and healthier environment for the citizens, thereby contributing to the overall development and well-being of the city.

By actively engaging in cleanliness drives, the SMC strives to foster a sense of civic responsibility among residents and promote a sustainable and hygienic lifestyle.
