DLSA Sgr, Vitasta School of Law & Humanities celebrate ‘Constitution Day’

Srinagar: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, in collaboration with the Vitasta School of Law and Humanities, Srinagar celebrated ‘Constitution Day’ also known as “National Law Day”.

The event was held under the guidance and supervision of Secretary DLSA, Srinagar Jahangir Bakshi.

The event was attended by the students, Panel lawyer Adv Syed Shabana, Para legal volunteer Nelofar, Principal Vitasta Dr. Fareed Ah Rafique, Vice Principal Rakib Ahmad Zia and faculty members viz., Saheana Shafi, Sabah Bashir, Dr. Fatima Shah, Dr. Shaziya Sagar Durrani, Dr. Seemen Muzaffer, Sadaf Sareen, Nosheen Ismail, Samreen Mehraj, Uzma Yaqoob, Umaiya, Aijaz Ahmad, Abrar Fazili, Samee Ul Islam.

The event commenced with an insightful address by our esteemed Principal Dr Fareed Ah Rafique who highlighted the importance of Constitution.

Three students of Vitasta School of law spoke about various topics relating to the Constitution which include Importance of constitution in a democratic legal system and Right to equality vis a vis gender equality.

The Vice Principal Rakib Ahmad Zia stressed on the need of revival or revision of the Constitution as it has undergone more than 100 amendments since it was adopted.

The guest of honour Jahangir Bakshi, Secretary DLSA while addressing the audience also stressed on the various principles which are enshrined in the Constitution.

The event was concluded by Nelofar, Para Legal volunteer DLSA Srinagar.

Meanwhile, the vote of thanks was presented by the teacher-in-charge Dr. Fatima Shah, who extended her gratitude on behalf of College authorities to the team of DLSA for organising such a great and successful event in the college.
