Srinagar: Humhama Ward of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Monday conducted a cleanliness drive at Humhama, Rangreth Rawalpora.
On the request of locals, a team of SMC led by a concerned Ward officer Humhama, Abdul Majeed, Sanitation Officer Riyaz Ahmad, and other officers from SMC Humhama Ward 33 conducted the cleanliness drive from Friends Colony Humhama to Rawalpora bridge.
The cleanliness drive held in Srinagar under “‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has become a Jan-Andolan in J&K.
Lifting of garbage and all unwanted grass was removed during the drive.
Meanwhile, the residents led by Dawood Ahmad Wani hailed the initiative of the SMC and urged it to regularly conduct such cleanliness drives.
