Udhampur woman entrepreneur gives employment to 40 persons

Udhampur: Anuj Verma Area Marketing Officer Udhampur, Thursday, visited site of installation of machines by Reetika Mahajan at Dhar Road Udhampur, under PMFME scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries Government of India.

Reetika Mahajan has opened up a branch of Pahalwan Di Hatti at Dhar Road Udhampur. She has availed benefits of PMFME scheme by getting easy bank loan of Rs. 28.12 lacs with 35 percent subsidy on cost of machinery.

Reetika, franchisee of Pahalwan Di Hatti in Udhampur, has set up state of the art machinery at her establishment and has provided employment to 40 persons in different capacities.

Pahalwan Di Hatti is an old and prominent brand, popular not only in JK but also outside the UT. AGMO Udhampur Kamal Kishor and Satyakam Mahajan were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Anuj Verma, Area Marketing Officer, said that Prime Minister Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme of Government of India is playing a major role in providing employment to youth as well as rural women.

Till now, 64 cases have been registered under the scheme in Udhampur district with 32 loan cases sanctioned and about twenty units running successfully.
