Laigaroo urges Govt to ensure proper drainage system in Zaldagar

Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Constituency Incharge Habba Kadal, Arif Laigaroo on Thursday appealed the government to ensure proper drainage system in Zaldagar area here.

Laigaroo said that the street at Rangar Kocha in Zaldagar was flooded with sewage spilling from the blocked drains.

The area was though dewatered though by the Srinagar Municipal Corporation, there is a need to come up with a proper drainage system in the locality so that the local residents here could heave a sigh of relief, he said.

Laigaroo along with Sameer Ul Jameel, Sheikh Numan visited the residents of Rangar Kocha and urged the administration for timely and proper maintenance and cleaning of the drainage system in the area.

“Srinagar is in the middle of a heat wave and poor sanitation resulting from blocked and spilling drainage system could prove devastating for public health. Therefore, the administration must ensure timely measures are taken to lessen the misery of people,” said Arif Laigroo.
