Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir has achieved significant milestones in terms of development over the past three years. With a focus on various sectors, the Union Territory has set a new record for the highest number of works completed within this period.
The efforts to improve the socio-economic condition of the region have been hailed as a major achievement by both the government and the citizens.
An official while talking to Precious Kashmir said, “A concerted effort has been made to address the longstanding issues of underdevelopment and lack of infrastructure. The initiatives taken have encompassed a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education, transportation, agriculture, and tourism. The result has been a remarkable transformation of J&K, with a sharp increase in development projects being executed successfully.”
He said, “One of the key areas of focus has been healthcare. The past three years have witnessed the construction and upgrading of numerous hospitals and primary health centers across the state. This has significantly improved access to quality healthcare services for the local population.”
The education sector, according to the officials, has also experienced a major overhaul. “Several new schools, colleges, and vocational training centers have been established, providing a much-needed boost to the education system. This has not only improved the literacy rate in the state but also increased opportunities and skills of the youth, leading to a brighter future for them,” they added.
“In terms of transportation,” they said, “There has been a massive push to build and upgrade road networks and bridges. This has not only improved connectivity within the UT but also enhanced access to remote areas, previously cut off due to lack of proper transportation infrastructure.”
“The agricultural sector has also witnessed significant progress. Modern irrigation systems have been installed, providing a steady supply of water to farmers. The government has also introduced various schemes and programs aimed at supporting the farming community, including procurement facilities, crop insurance, and financial assistance. As a result, agricultural productivity has increased, leading to higher incomes for farmers,” the officials said.
Referring to the tourism industry, they said, “The tourism industry has seen a revival, with J&K witnessing a surge in the number of tourists during the past three years. The government has invested in the development and promotion of tourist destinations, such as the beautiful valleys, picturesque lakes, and religious shrines that J&K is known for. This has not only created employment opportunities for the local population, but also contributed to the overall economic growth of the UT.”
“Overall Jammu and Kashmir has recorded the highest number of development works completed during the past three years. The efforts put in by the government have significantly improved the lives of the citizens, while also creating a favorable environment for economic growth. The development works undertaken provide a solid foundation for future progress, allowing the UT to flourish in various sectors,” said an observer.
