Srinagar: The Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nishat Srinagar showed a massive jump in the academics as in the recent result of HSE-II (2022-23) announced by JK BOSE, the overall pass percentage of the institution is 85.50% with 60% students achieving distinction in Science and Humanities streams.
The present result of the institution has been achieved under the dynamic leadership of Gh. Mohi-ud Din Sheikh, Principal, who took over the reigns as the head from the year 2019 and since then, the results are increasing, which has presently touched 90% achievement on the academics front.
The school has excelled on every front, be it sports, cultural programs, NSS, NCC and the academics. The staff has been the pillars for achieving high status in every field under the leadership of the principal.
During the tenure of the incumbent Principal, the institution was awarded National Cadet Corps (NCC) Raksha Mantri Padak & Commendation Card by the Union Defense Minister and by the divisional administration Kashmir on the Republic Day Celebrations 2023.
Apart from above achievements, the institution is working for the development of infrastructure and construction work worth Rs 2.65 Crore is going on presently in the institution which has been made possible by the support of concerned authorities, Commissioner Secretary School Education Department, Director School Education Kashmir and Chief Education Officer Srinagar.
The school is being well equipped by the modern technology including internet facilities, ICT Lab, Computer Lab and is actively considering providing of more and more computer system to meet out the needs of poor students who come from poor background, schedule caste and schedule tribe communities of the catchment area.
In addition, a special attention is given to the students towards their health issues with regular medical checkups and counseling so that the students remain stress free to achieve their goals.
All the stakeholders especially the inhabitants residing in and around the institution have appreciated the progress made by the institution during the tenure of the present Principal.
