Srinagar: Nehru Yuva Kendra Srinagar, and NSS, University of Kashmir, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GOI organized District-level Yuva Utsav India@2047 at Gandhi Bhawan, University of Kashmir, to showcase and nurture the potential of youth while channelizing their talent towards positive and productive pursuits. The event was organized on the Panch Pran of Amritkaal.
The main objective of the programme was to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in the spirit of Yuva Shakti Se Jan Bhagidari.
Over 260 young, talented youth in the age group of 15- 29 from different colleges and higher secondary schools in Srinagar showcased their talent in five respective categories like, Young Artist Contest (painting), Young Writers Contest (poetry), Photography Contest & Workshop, Declamation Contest, and District Cultural Presentation.
The Chief Guest Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofar Khan welcomed such activities hosted by NYKS and extended her full cooperation and support for hosting such nation- building events in the future as well. The vice chancellor welcomed all the participants and praised the efforts of the NYKS and NSS for bringing the youth under one platform as they have a central role to play in nation-building, unlocking the true potential of youth who hold the key role in the progress of the entire country.
The valedictory session was presided over by Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, Registrar, and University of Kashmir. Speaking on the occasion, he said that this program is a wonderful opportunity for the youth to showcase their art and talent. He further said the NSS and NYK are doing their best to involve the youth in constructive work.
Dr. Musavir Ahmad, Coordinator, NSS, University of Kashmir, said that talented youth from higher secondary schools and colleges were screened and participated in the district-level Yuva Utsav organized today at Gandhi Bhawan, University of Kashmir. The winners of all five competitions were felicitated with cash prizes, trophies, and certificates by Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, Registrar, and University of Kashmir.
Besides the Vice Chancellor, Registrar University and other Dignitaries Of University Kashmir and other colleges cum higher secondary Institutions attended the function and louded the role of Nehru Yuva Kendra Srinagar in bringing the youths of Srinagar under one umbrella.
Deputy Director, Hakim Abdul Aziz thanked the Vice-chancellor, Registrar and other and NSS, University of Kashmir, for their cooperation and facilitating us to make this event a grand success.
