Uri: Advisory on LSD urges farmers to follow guidelines strictly

Uri: Department of Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Uri has issued an advisory in view of outbreak of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD).

The farmers have been advised to follow the guidelines issued in order to prevent the spread of the contagious disease.

“The department requests the farmers to keep their animals at their respective places especially the farmers of towns and related market places where animals are roaming freely,” reads the advisory, adding, “They may become sources of infection.”

Meanwhile, locals have complained that dozens of cattle are roaming in Uri market and urged the administration to take action to keep these cattle in the respective places which according to them can become source of LSD. (GNS)
