ADGP Security honours 7 women on Int’l Women’s Day

Jammu: Rotary Club Jammu on Tuesday organised a function on the eve of International Women’s Day at Amar Singh Club Jammu.

Seven women of substance who have excelled in various fields were honoured by Chief Guest Dr S.D Singh Jamwal, Additional DGP Security, J&K/ Director SSG J&K & Director SKPA Udhampur.

The awardees include Sukhleen kour chief planning officer Jammu, Swati Sharma DySP headquarters Jammu, Farha Nishat DySP (Traffic) Jammu, Geetu Bangotra Principal Higher Secondary School, Deepika Mahajan Advocate, Amar Chohan M D Infobug and Sumi Sahi, a multi-dimensional personality.

President Raman Wazir welcomed the Chief Guest and awardees. He gave resume of Rotary activities of Jammu Tawi Club.

Governor elect Dr Dushyant Choudhary gave details of philanthropic activities of Rotary throughout the world.

He added that next rotary chief of the world is a lady. He said that rotary is organising & honouring eminent women every year. He thanked the Chief Guest for sparing his valuable time.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr S.D. Singh Jamwal who is a police officer with vast experience in policing, counter militancy, diplomatic experience and also a prolific writer appreciated the efforts of rotary in honouring distinguished ladies.

He said that women are endowed with special traits which make them much more capable then men. He said that today women are in the forefront in every field. He exhorted everyone to provide enabling environment for women to realise their potential.

He said that process of empowering women should start from our homes and giving women their due in society will lead to more peaceful world.
