Jammu: A man impersonating as an Army officer was arrested on Sunday by the police in Bari Brahmana area of Samba district.
Police said that during routine patrolling at Telli Basti area, one person in Army uniform was found movig around suspiciously.
“On suspicion, he was detained by the police team,” they said, adding that he was donning the uniform of an Army Lieutenant.
“When put under sustained questioning, he did not give any satisfactory reply and was unable to produce his identity card following which when interrogated, he spilled the beans,” said police.
He identified himself as Raman Singh of Rakh Floura, R S Pura, Jammu, police said adding that a case was registered against him under relevant sections and the matter is being investigated to ascertain the motive behind his actions.
