2 non-locals shot dead in Kulgam

Anantnag: Two non-locals were killed and another injured when gunmen fired upon them in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday evening.

Officials said the gunmen fired at them at Wanpoh, leaving two persons—Raja Reshi Dev and Jogindar Reshi Dev, both from Bihar—dead on the spot while wounding one another. The injured was shifted to GMC Anantnag.

They said that the injured, Chun Chun Reshi Das son of Teju Das of Bihar, was taken to GMC Anantnag where his condition is stated to be stable.

“He has fire arm injury in back and arm. His condition is stated to be stable,” Medical Superintendent GMC Anantnag Dr iqbal Sofi told GNS.

On Saturday Police said militants fired upon two non-local labourers in Srinagar and Pulwama killing both of them. The police identified them as Arvind Kumar of Banka Bihar and Sagir Ahmad of UP.

On October 5 the militants shot dead prominent Kashmiri Pandit, Makhan Lal Bindroo at his shop. Within an hour of Bindroo’s killing, another non-local golgappa seller from Bihar was shot dead in the Lal Bazar area in the city followed by the killing of a Muslim taxi driver Mohammad Shafi Lone in northern Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A day later, militants shot dead 45-year-old Sikh woman principal Satinder Kaur, mother of two, and a Jammu native Deepak Chand.

The police said this year 28 civilians have been killed and seven of them are from minority communities and the rest were Muslims.
