Two notorious drug peddlers held in Budgam: Police

Srinagar: Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two notorious drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession, besides, cash and cell phones were also recovered from their possession.

According to a statement issued here, the officers from Police Station Chadoora at a checkpoint established at Kill-Kadal Chadoora intercepted two persons in a suspicious condition. They have been identified as Farooq Abbas Koka son of Abdul Majeed Koka and Sameer Ahmad Koka son of Farooq Ahmad Koka both residents of Zinipora Chadoora. During checking, officers were able to recover 20 grams of heroin, cash amount of Rs 18600 and 02 cell phones from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to a police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 177/2021 under relevant sections of law has been  registered at Police Station Chadoora and further investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers & cultivation of the contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling or cultivation will be dealt as per law.
