J&K Govt announces awards to 10 teachers every year

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir has announced awards to 10 teachers every year for their outstanding performance.

The announcement was made by Secretary Education Jammu and Kashmir, Bishwajit Kumar Singh on the eve of Teachers Day.

According to a local news gathering agency, Bishwajit Kumar Singh said that the government has decided to give away best teachers award to 10 people every year for their outstanding performance.

Singh said that this year they have given away awards of best teacher to 9 people and now all this process will go through a proper screening to give away best teachers away to 10 people every year.

“For this, we have also framed committees for its screening at district, division and UT level to select the awardees,” Singh said, adding that the government had decided to frame district level committees that will advise them in the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Singh said that they have also decided to leave it up to the teachers to communicate them about the requirements to make education sector of Jammu Kashmir more advanced.

He also said that in the first week of September schools for class 12th with 50% students and faculty will be permitted to open and in the 2nd week schools class 10th will be opened. He also wishes good luck to all the students, who are going for their exams, particularly students appearing in NEET next week.

“The students of Jammu Kashmir have huge potential, they just need our well wishes and support to excel in their life,” he added. (KNS)
