5 AK rifles, 7 pistols recovered near LoC in Karnah: Army

Srinagar: Army on Monday claimed that troops recovered a large haul of arms from close of Line of Control (LoC) in Karnah.

“On the night of March 28, in a specific intelligence based joint operation by Indian Army and police, five AK rifles and seven pistols with a host of magazines and ammunition were recovered from close to LoC in Karnah,” a defence spokesman said.

The operation was conducted in very close proximity of the LoC in Dhanni village which is under direct observation of Pak Army posts in Lipa Valley.

The spokesman said  security agencies and civil administration in Karnah continue to work hand in hand to negate the security threat to people in J&K.

“In the last two years, a total of 16 weapons & over 50 KG of narcotics has been recovered from Karnah,” he added.
