Govt on track to fulfil promises: Itoo

Srinagar, Oct 28: Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said the government had brought things back on track over the past two years, adding that most of its commitments had been fulfilled to a great extent.

Speaking to reporters here, the minister expressed confidence that the remaining pending work would be completed in the next two and a half years.

On reports of resentment among some National Conference leaders following the recent Cabinet expansion, Itoo said there was nothing to worry about, describing the party as a family where members had the right to express their concerns.

“If there are 10 children in a family, parents cannot accommodate all of them at the same time,” she said, referring to the concerns expressed by some party leaders.

The minister also spoke about efforts to improve educational infrastructure, saying the government was working to provide better facilities for students pursuing school and higher education.

Itoo added that efforts were underway to ensure students had access to a comfortable learning environment and essential facilities. (KINS)
