Ujala Cygnus Amandeep Hospital celebrates World Pharmacy Day

Srinagar, Sep 25: Ujala Cygnus Amandeep Hospital, Srinagar, organised a special programme to mark World Pharmacy Day, highlighting the vital role of pharmacists in ensuring safe and effective patient care.

The programme was attended by healthcare professionals, pharmacists and other members of the hospital staff. PDP leader Syed Tajamul Islam was present as a special invitee and addressed the gathering.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Tajamul Islam appreciated the contribution of pharmacists to the healthcare system and said their role extends beyond dispensing medicines. He stressed the importance of proper guidance to patients regarding the safe use, dosage and possible side effects of medicines.

The programme was held in the presence of Dr Pervaiz Sofi, Ujala Hospital, who also interacted with the pharmacists and other participants.

Speakers at the event underlined the growing importance of pharmacy services in modern healthcare and emphasised the need for close coordination between pharmacists, doctors and other healthcare professionals.

The speakers said pharmacists play a significant role in promoting rational use of medicines, improving patient awareness and supporting healthcare providers in ensuring better treatment outcomes.

The gathering also acknowledged the professional services being rendered by pharmacists and their contribution to public health. Participants said that continued efforts are required to strengthen pharmacy services and ensure that patients receive quality medicines and appropriate professional guidance.

On the occasion, the contribution of pharmacists towards patient safety and healthcare delivery was appreciated, while participants extended greetings to the pharmacy fraternity on World Pharmacy Day.

The programme concluded with a call for greater collaboration among healthcare professionals to further improve patient-centred care and strengthen healthcare services in Jammu and Kashmir.
