Anantnag, September 10: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Pahalgam Mohammad Altaf Wani and MLA Shangus-Anantnag East Riyaz Khan Thursday laid the foundation stones of three PMGSY roads in the Hapatnard and Nagbal areas of Anantnag district.
The roads include Hapatnard–Cherward Road, Lehandabjan–Masjid Nard Road and ST Basti Nagbal Road. The projects are being executed by the PMGSY Division Anantnag and are aimed at providing improved road connectivity to the upper reaches of Hapatnard and Nagbal with the plains of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, both MLAs said that providing better connectivity to remote and upper reaches remains a key priority of the government led by J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
They said the construction of these roads was a long-pending demand of the local people and would improve connectivity, facilitate transportation and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the areas.
The MLAs also expressed hope that the projects would be completed within the stipulated timeframe and provide much-needed relief to the residents of the concerned areas.
