New Delhi, Aug 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Khelo India Dialogue with young participants across the country on Thursday, August 27, as the Centre seeks to place sports, youth leadership and civic participation at the centre of its nation-building agenda.
Modi will address the programme through video conferencing at 11 am. Organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) as part of National Sports Day 2026 celebrations, the nationwide programme will involve youth participants from two colleges in every district across States and Union Territories.
The initiative will provide a platform for young people to share their aspirations on sports and national development, while engaging with athletes, MY Bharat volunteers and public representatives.
A key component of the programme will be Yuva Samvaad, which will focus on five themes—strengthening India’s sports ecosystem, building Olympic aspirations, developing youth leadership, contributing to Viksit Bharat and promoting a Nasha Mukt Yuva.
Under the sports theme, participants will discuss improving facilities, coaching, sports science and inclusive participation. The Olympic-focused discussions will centre on scientific talent identification, transparent selection and long-term athlete development, with the 2036 Olympics as a key aspiration.
The dialogue will also focus on developing youth leadership through governance platforms and volunteering, equipping young people with future-ready skills and civic responsibility, and using sports and peer networks to combat substance abuse.
The programme will be followed by local-level interactions involving youth, sportspersons, MY Bharat volunteers and public representatives, with direct interactions between young sports enthusiasts and leading Indian athletes and medal winners forming a major feature.
