Even though we know that our region is flood-prone, why are we encroaching upon flood channels? Why are we constructing buildings on riverbanks? Why are such permissions being granted? These are serious matters of concern, but they do have solutions. Such activities cannot be stopped overnight; therefore, the most practical solution is to minimize environmental damage through active participation in conservation efforts and sustainable practices.
The environment plays a vital role in our lives. It includes plants, water bodies, animals, birds, air, soil, and other natural elements. While development in the form of roads, bridges, buildings, railway tracks, airports, factories, industries, and hydroelectric projects is necessary, it can also negatively affect the environment if not managed responsibly.
