Jammu: The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) remained closed for all types of traffic on Friday as restoration work continued on the affected stretch between Jakheni in Udhampur district and Gangroo in Banihal area of Ramban district.
According to the Traffic Police, restoration operations were in progress at multiple vulnerable locations along the highway following recent landslides and shooting stones.
Authorities advised commuters not to undertake any journey on the highway until the road is declared safe and reopened for traffic.
The Traffic Police also urged the public not to pay heed to rumours regarding the status of the highway and to rely only on official updates issued through its verified communication channels. [KNT]
