The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) update from the region of Jammu and Kashmir shows that the number of rural families benefitting with the Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTCs) increased to 81.26% of the total village population.
In other words, India has registered a remarkable step ahead in regard to the development of the region.
The updates shared during the Parliament meeting show that at the start of the project in August 2019, the number of the families using tap water was extremely small.
The situation has changed completely both in terms of health and infrastructure.
The introduction of more than 9.89 lakh tap water connections enabled making the lives of a large number of people easier in the region.
It is much more than simply having taps and pipelines installed. This means that rural people do not have to wait for long hours for water anymore.
The success can be defined by the number of diseases and problems with hygiene experienced by people in the region.
Some areas of central Kashmir are completely saturated thus confirming the fact that good governance can solve difficult geographical and logistic questions.
The movement keeps growing in Jammu and Kashmir, providing the perfect opportunity for more exhaustive socio-economic development. Clean drinking water can indeed be the basis for a successful community.
The initiatives offered by the government indicate their will to improve people’s life standards and share the benefits of national improvements with the whole nation.
This is not just a statistic, but is in fact an achievement of great importance for public health, empowerment of women, and respect for the rural population.
Just as in the case with water delivery by government workers to homes of the residents of Jammu and Kashmir, you also have to control the quality of the water regularly.
