TAFI J&K marks Ruby Jubilee with tree plantation drive

Srinagar, July 15: The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), J&K Chapter, in collaboration with the Environmental Policy Group (EPG), on Tuesday organised a tree plantation drive at the Hokersar Wetland Conservation Reserve to commemorate the 40th Ruby Jubilee anniversary of TAFI.

The initiative was aimed at promoting environmental conservation and reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to preserving Jammu and Kashmir’s ecologically fragile landscape.

Members of the TAFI J&K Chapter participated enthusiastically in the plantation drive, taking time out of their schedules to contribute to the environmental initiative. The organisers said the programme reflected the organisation’s values of unity, responsibility and service to society, while encouraging collective action towards environmental protection.

Expressing gratitude to all participants, the organisers said the overwhelming response from members helped make the event a meaningful success and demonstrated the importance of community participation in conservation efforts.

Marking four decades of TAFI’s journey, the organisers said the milestone was celebrated not merely through commemorative events but by making a lasting contribution to the environment. They expressed hope that the saplings planted during the drive would grow into lasting symbols of environmental responsibility and sustainability.

On the occasion, the TAFI J&K Chapter reaffirmed its commitment to supporting environmental conservation and undertaking similar initiatives in the future to contribute towards the protection and preservation of Jammu and Kashmir’s natural ecosystems.

The organisers said such initiatives underline the importance of translating commitment into action and emphasised that sustainable progress is achieved through collective efforts that leave a positive impact on society and the environment.
