Srinagar, June 24: As part of the comprehensive security and administrative preparations for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026), SSP Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS Wednesday chaired a meeting of all Zonal Officers and Sector Officers deployed for Yatra duties.
The meeting focused on reviewing the operational plan and ensuring seamless coordination among the officers entrusted with responsibilities along the Yatra route and other designated locations. SSP Anantnag briefed the officers in detail about their roles and responsibilities, emphasizing the need for constant vigilance, professionalism, and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
He directed the officers to maintain close coordination with all stakeholders, ensure effective supervision in their respective jurisdictions, and remain prepared to respond promptly to any situation.
Special emphasis was laid on proactive policing, efficient communication, crowd management, and providing all possible assistance to pilgrims while maintaining a robust security grid.
The SSP further instructed the officers to ensure round-the-clock alertness, regular field inspections, and timely reporting of any developments so that the Yatra is conducted in a safe, secure, and hassle-free manner.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of Police’s commitment to ensuring foolproof security arrangements and facilitating the smooth conduct of SANJY-2026 through coordinated planning and dedicated field deployment.
SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Chowdhary also chaired a meeting of senior officers from Police, Army, BSF & CRPF to review the security arrangements and deployment of personnel for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra- 2026 at Railway station Anantnag.
The meeting was attended by CO 1RR, CO 18 BN CRPF, CO 46 BN CRPF, CO Adhoc KS-18 BSF, Addl SP Kulgam, Addl SP NHW Qazigund, Zonal officers of zone 06 & 07, DySP PC Mirbazar, SDPO railway Anantnag and other senior officers. The meeting deliberated on different issues of security, communication network, regulation of traffic management on national highway and other roads, parking of vehicles and deployment of forces for security of Pilgrims and general public.
He emphasised upon officers for special focus on sensitive locations while putting in place the security arrangements.
He said that adequate and effective deployments should be made on ground to address any vulnerability and to gaps if any.
He directed the officers to revisit security plans and fine tune these at zonal level to augment an adequate response to any exigency.
He emphasized for focus on ROPs, lateral deployment, law & order deployment to neutralize threats and meet the challenges.
