J&K Police reshuffles DSP cadre

Srinagar, Jun 17: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday carried out a significant reshuffle in its Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) cadre, ordering the posting of 28 newly promoted officers and transferring 32 serving DSPs across the Union Territory.

According to an order issued by the Police Headquarters, the newly promoted officers have been assigned to various departments, including the CID, Crime Branch, Special Investigation Agency (SIA), Armed Police, Security Wing, Railways and police training institutions.

In a parallel exercise, 32 DSPs already in service have been transferred and posted to new assignments in district police units and specialised wings such as Traffic Police, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Special Operations Group (SOG), CID, Security, and Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP).

The transfers and postings have come into effect immediately as part of the department’s administrative reorganisation aimed at strengthening policing and operational efficiency across Jammu and Kashmir. (KINS)
