Srinagar, June 12: Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officer Mohammad Younis Mir, a 2019-batch officer currently serving as Assistant Director, Handicrafts and Handloom in the Industries and Commerce Department, passed away on Friday after a brief illness.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed deep sorrow over his untimely demise.
In his condolence message, the Lieutenant Governor said he was saddened by the loss of a committed officer who served the people of Jammu and Kashmir with utmost dedication. He conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also expressed profound grief, describing Mir’s passing as an irreparable loss. He extended condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, friends and colleagues, and prayed for strength and fortitude for them to bear the loss. The Chief Minister also prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.
Meanwhile, the Old Natipora Welfare Committee expressed profound grief over the demise of the young officer, describing him as a dedicated, dynamic and sincere administrator whose contributions to society would be remembered with respect and admiration. The committee said his untimely death has created a void not only within his family but across the entire Natipora community.
The committee noted that Mir was widely respected for his integrity, commitment and distinguished public service, earning the affection of people through his devotion to duty.
Extending condolences to the bereaved family, the committee prayed for the departed soul’s highest place in Jannah and for strength and patience for the family to bear the irreparable loss.
