Srinagar, May 08: In continuation to the ongoing drive under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan Jammu & Kashmir, police in Kulgam along with Revenue authorities retrieved kahcharai land measuring total 05 Kanals at village Oriel within the jurisdiction of Police Station Kund.
Land measuring 01 kanal ( Survey No. 182 min), was under unauthorized occupation of drug peddler Gulam Nabi Bhat son in law of Fateh Mohd Bhat & land measuring 02 kanals (Survey No.142) was under unauthorised occupation of drug peddler Gulam Nabi Bhat son of Ab Gani Bhat & 02 kanals (Survey No.142 min) was under unauthorised occupation of all residents of village Oriel Kund who are involved in case FIR No. 15/2025 U/S 8/18 NDPS Act. of Police Station Kund. The retrieved kahchari land has an estimated market value of approximately ₹60 lacs.
The retrieval was carried out jointly by Police and Revenue authorities as part of sustained efforts to dismantle the illegal infrastructure and financial networks of drug peddlers.
SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS, while reiterating the firm resolve of the police, stated that strict action will continue against individuals involved in drug trafficking, and all illegal assets, encroachments, and proceeds of crime linked to such activities will be identified and dealt with as per law.
Police appeals to the general public to come forward with information regarding drug peddling or illegal encroachments, assuring full confidentiality and strict action against offenders.
