Pampore, May 4: A labourer injured after being trapped under a collapsing concrete slab during a demolition at Sharshali in Khrew area of Pulwama district died at a hospital on Monday, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Muhammad Younis Bhat, son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat, a resident of Sharshali.
The incident occurred when a concrete slab collapsed during the demolition of a residential house, trapping two labourers under the debris.
Both injured persons were immediately rescued and shifted to Sub-District Hospital Pampore for treatment.
However, MuhammadYounis Bhat succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, officials said.
The second injured, Tariq Ahmad Lone, son of Ghulam Mohammad Lone, a resident of Sharshali, sustained minor injuries and is undergoing treatment. His condition was stated to be stable.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident. (KNT)
