Govt issues May roster for Ministers, Admin Secys

Srinagar, May 04: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has issued the duty roster for both ministers and administrative secretaries at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu, for May 2026 to ensure smooth conduct of official work and public dealings during the summer session.

As per the notified schedule, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary will be available at the Civil Secretariat from May 4 to May 8.

He will be followed by Minister for Health and Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education and Social Welfare, Sakeena Masood Itoo, from May 11 to May 15. Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, has been rostered from May 18 to May 22, while Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Election Departments, Javid Ahmad Dar, will attend the Secretariat from May 25 to May 29.

Meanwhile, the General Administration Department (GAD), through Government Order No. 859-JK(GAD) of 2026 dated May 3, has also detailed the roster for administrative secretaries, with senior IAS officers scheduled in pairs on a rotational basis.

From May 4 to May 8, Ashwani Kumar, IAS, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Power Development Department, along with Mohammad Aijaz, IAS, Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, will remain available at the Secretariat. Between May 11 and May 15, Shaleen Kabra, IAS, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Jal Shakti Department, and Dr. Piyush Singla, IAS, Secretary, Information Technology Department, have been assigned duty.

For the period from May 18 to May 22, Dr. Ashish Chandra Verma, IAS, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Tourism Department, and Naveen S. L., IAS, Secretary, Civil Aviation Department, will be present. In the final phase, from May 25 to May 29, Shailendra Kumar, IAS, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Finance Department, along with Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, IAS, Administrative Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, will attend the Secretariat.

The government said the rosters have been issued to ensure the presence of ministers and senior officials for effective governance, administrative continuity, and timely disposal of public and official matters at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu.
