Srinagar, April 28: Five people have been arrested in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar district after grenades, ammunition and other incriminating material were found on them, said police said on Tuesday.
Officials said these five persons were arrested in the Khanmoh area of the district by a police team during checking at Nard Sangri near Khanmoh.
Police said two hand grenades, two magazines, some rounds of ammunition, posters and six mobile phones were recovered from their possession.
A case under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act has been registered at Panthachowk police station.
Further investigation is going on, and more details are awaited.
