Prez Murmu calls for collective nation-building

New Delhi, Mar 19: President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday called for collective effort and unity in nation-building, urging citizens to work together with a shared sense of purpose to strengthen the country.

“Guided by a sense of kinship and collective purpose, we must all contribute to building a stronger nation,” she said while addressing a gathering during her visit to the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.

The President said India is witnessing a phase of national resurgence, marked by progress across economic, social, political and cultural spheres.

Murmu also linked the country’s development trajectory to the ideals of “Ram Rajya,” noting that India is steadily moving towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

She said the concept of Ram Rajya envisions an inclusive society based on justice, morality and social harmony, where no one is deprived or lacking in moral values.

“The ideal of Ram Rajya reflects the highest standards of economic prosperity and social harmony,” she said, adding that it provides a guiding framework for nation-building.

Earlier, the President visited the temple complex, offered prayers and participated in religious ceremonies, describing the visit as a privilege. She noted its significance as it coincided with the beginning of the Hindu New Year and the Navratri festival.

Murmu also referred to key milestones associated with the temple, including the foundation ceremony, the consecration of the idol, the opening of the sanctum for devotees and the hoisting of the religious flag, describing them as significant moments in India’s cultural and historical journey.
