Army soldier goes missing

Rajouri, March 9: An Army soldier went missing during a River Crossing Training (RCT) exercise in the Sundarbani area of Rajouri district on Monday, officials said.

The incident occurred around noon when the soldier was participating in the training activity conducted by the Army in the area.

Officials identified the missing soldier as Sepoy Akshit Sharma.

The development occurred during the routine River Crossing Training exercise being carried out by Army personnel in the region.

Officials said the soldier went missing at around 12 pm while the training was underway in the general area of Sundarbani.

Following the incident, the Army launched an extensive search operation to trace the missing soldier.

Authorities said all available resources of the Indian Army have been pressed into service to locate the soldier.

Civil agencies have also been involved in the search efforts to assist the Army in locating the missing personnel.

Officials said the search operation was continuing in the area till the filing of this report. (KNT)
