Actively support, ensure maximum participation: Athar

 BUDGAM, FEBRUARY 28: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir khan Saturday launched the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination Campaign against cervical cancer from Charar-i-sharief marking a major initiative toward safeguarding adolescent girls from cervical cancer in the district.

The initiative, launched under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi ji aims to vaccinate girls up to the age of 14 years, thereby significantly reducing the risk of cervical cancer later in life.

The DC emphasised that the campaign reflects the administration’s strong commitment to preventive healthcare and the promotion of women’s health. He informed that a large number of beneficiaries will be covered across Budgam district through a well-coordinated mechanism involving multiple vaccination centres established at Government Medical Colleges, District Hospitals, Community Health Centres, and Primary Health Centres to ensure smooth and effective implementation.

Highlighting the importance of early vaccination, the DC urged parents, teachers, and community leaders to actively support the initiative and ensure maximum participation.

He also stressed the vital role of the Education department and Anganwadi workers in spreading awareness and facilitating outreach at the grassroots level.

On the occasion, the DC also inspected the overall facilities SDH charar-i-sharief. He interacted with doctors, paramedical staff, patients, their attendants, and members of the general public, and took stock of healthcare services being provided, while issuing necessary directions for further improvement.

Later, the DC paid obeisance at the revered Ziyarat of Sheikh Noor-ud-din Wali (RA).

Besides, SDM Chadoora Primroze Bashir, CMO Budgam Dr. Gulzar , Senior officers of the district administration and the health department were present on the occasion.
