Drug trafficking attempt foiled in Bla: Police

Srinagar, February 21: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking, Police in Baramulla on Saturday said to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A Police team at a checkpoint established at Dhobiwan Crossing, intercepted a vehicle (Tavera) bearing registration number JK01BD-2547 driven by Adil Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Dar resident of Hardu Aboora, a police spokesman said.

During the search, approximately 28 grams of a charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, the accused was arrested and the vehicle was seized. In this regard, police said that a case under FIR number 15/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kunzer, and further investigation is underway.

J&K Police reiterated its commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appealed to the public to cooperate and share information regarding drug-related activities.
