Tangmarg, Jan 12: The Drang waterfall in Tangmarg has frozen amid intense winter cold, with large icicles forming along its cascading cliffs, turning the spot into a major attraction for tourists visiting the area.
The frozen waterfall has emerged as a popular halt for tourists travelling towards Gulmarg, with visitors stopping to witness the icy spectacle, click photographs and spend time around the site. Locals said the natural transformation has effectively turned Drang into a prominent selfie point during the winter season.
Tourists said the frozen sheets of water and hanging icicles offer a striking visual experience, especially for visitors witnessing Kashmir’s winter landscape for the first time. Vehicles heading to Gulmarg are seen pulling over near Drang as travellers pause to enjoy the frozen scenery.
Local inhabitants said the steady tourist footfall has added to winter tourism activity in Tangmarg, with small vendors and service providers also benefiting from the increased movement.
