MeT predicts cloudy weather till Jan 5, 2026
Srinagar: While the preparations for New Year celebrations have commenced, nature is all set to bring more joy on the occasion as the weatherman here has predicted light snowfall at scattered places in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the details shared by the Meteorological Department (MeT), there is a possibility of generally cloudy weather conditions till January 05, 2026.
Director MeT, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy till December 28 while on December 29, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with possibility of light snow at isolated higher reaches.
He informed that as per the forecast, the weather conditions by the end of this year on December 30th and 31st shall remain cloudy with possibility of light rain in plains and light snow in higher reaches at scattered places.
Similar weather conditions are expected on the New Year, he said, adding that partly to generally cloudy weather can be expected from January 02 to January 05, 2026.
The weatherman has also issued an advisory, advising the travelers and transporters to follow traffic and administration advisories.
It adds that moderate to dense fog over plains of Jammu division is expected during the next five days.
