Developing tunnels

In today’s society, the drive to connect people within the nation continues to grow stronger as a result of the incredible developments being made on the Zojila Tunnel at the top of the mountains in Ladakh.

Government representatives have recently notified us that construction is continuing to go very well and is currently ahead of schedule for completion by 2028 for such an important route.

The completion of the Zojila Tunnel is therefore far beyond an infrastructure improvement; it represents the determination of the nation and a major development opportunity for the northern parts of India.

For hundreds of years, the Zojila Pass has represented the beauty as well as the isolation of the beautiful and unique area known as Ladakh.

The Zojila Pass is a treacherous road that has separated Ladakh from the rest of India every year for six months, and it has had devastating consequences for not only the armed forces that need to mobilise but also for the pricing of essential items found in local stores.

The Zojila Tunnel, which will be approximately 13 kilometres in length when finished, will eliminate this geographic barrier in its entirety.

Once completed, it will provide access at any time throughout the year thereby transforming what used to be a difficult passage into a pleasant, 15 minute ride.

The strategic importance of this project cannot be emphasised enough.

The completed Zojila Tunnel will provide transportation for supplies and the delivery of troops to support the efforts of our loyal armed forces located in one of the most dangerous parts of our country. Instead, The Zojila Tunnel will provide safe and efficient logistical support to our heroic armed forces supporting one of the most strategically sensitive areas in our nation for years and years to come.
