Today we have various fitness equipment available outdoors—like in gym centres, public parks, and even in our homes. In previous years, exercise was considered useless, but now it has become people’s favourite and one of the most important practices.
In today’s era, people face severe health issues like obesity, gastrointestinal problems, fatty liver, heart-related issues, orthopaedic problems, and several other risks.
Our body performs countless functions; every function is under the control of nature, like the processes of digestion, blood circulation, and excretion of waste material.
When we keenly observe our body’s functions, it clearly seems that someone is in control, and no human creature can perform such miracles. Alhamdulillah! Every creature believes there is a divine power behind all these phenomena, and this power controls even invisible particles like cells and atoms.
Cell: It is the fundamental, structural, and functional unit of life. Almost every living organism is made up of cells, whether multicellular or unicellular. There are about 25 trillion living cells in an adult human. Different organelles present in a cell include:
Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER):
A network of membranes involved in the synthesis of proteins and lipids.
Golgi Apparatus (Golgi Complex):
Modifies, sorts, and packages proteins and lipids for secretion or delivery to other organelles.
Ribosomes:
Sites of protein synthesis.
Lysosomes:
Sac-like structures containing enzymes that digest waste material and cellular debris.
Vacuoles:
Membrane-bound sacs that store water, nutrients, and waste products.
Peroxisomes:
Break down fatty acids and detoxify harmful substances.
Cytoskeleton:
A network of protein filaments that provides structural support and aids in cell movement.
Centrioles:
Involved in cell division in animal cells.
Chloroplasts (in plant cells):
Sites of photosynthesis that convert light energy into chemical energy.
Atom: Every non-living thing is made up of atoms. They are so tiny that we cannot see them with the naked eye. The structure of an atom consists of shells and a central nucleus.
I have mentioned this to remind us that Almighty is a superpower. We humans only study and research things that already exist in the universe. So say Alhamdulillah! and hope for the best. We have been gifted a great mind that can bring revolution, and that mind itself is bestowed by our Creator.
It is very unfortunate that today, in the age of cutting-edge technology, we still lack proper treatment for certain dreadful diseases like cancer, AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome), and several chromosomal disorders.
I have tried a little to understand the mercies of the Almighty upon us and why we are going astray. Why do we claim we are something? We chant, “This country is powerful; that country is helpless.” Always keep in mind that every creature is important and every bit is important.
Today, in this article, I am sharing my opinion on how regular exercise is important for our good health and how it keeps us happy, fit, and healthy.
First of all, we must understand what is more important in our lives—health, money, buildings, fame, etc.
Everyone prioritises health first and then other needs. But in today’s era, we motivate people to achieve milestones, yet we hardly motivate them to prioritise health first and then move ahead with full fitness and a smile on their face.
Some people are lucky because their profession involves physical work, like labourers and workers, but unfortunately, they earn very little—an income that cannot support their livelihood. Labourers deserve immense applause and beneficial schemes like a minimum monthly remuneration of 10,000 rupees so they do not feel insecure. Sportsmen are also lucky; they gain fitness, charm, fame, and money through regular physical activity.
Some people complain that they do not have time for regular exercise. I suggest setting up a home gym.
What is a home gym?
A home gym means keeping a separate room, if available, or keeping some basic equipment so that all parts of your body can be exercised daily. If you have a separate room, keep adding equipment whenever you are financially stable, and request your relatives to bring gym equipment instead of extravagant gifts on special occasions.
Benefits of Bodybuilding
I was in the 8th class when I started doing gym exercises; within Kashmir, bodybuilding is commonly known as the iron game. I met great and kind people there, including teachers, business personalities, sports personalities, and government employees who helped me and built my interest.
After facing odds and evens, I gained joyful feelings, and many unhealthy issues disappeared, like fatigue. I got a glow on my face and felt hydrated and fresh the whole day.
So, based on my experience, I suggest my beloved friends join a gym to enhance their personality, stay away from drugs, build interest in sports, and remain gentle and kind.
Before setting up a home gym, consult a good trainer who will guide you on how to cover your whole body regularly, what equipment is necessary, and how to engage your siblings and parents. I hope you will enjoy your life.
We can also set up mini gym centres at school level, which may raise awareness among students. They will learn the importance of exercise and get involved in this beneficial activity. I think at the college level we have gym centres, but students don’t get a chance to use them because the administration keeps them locked so the equipment stays fresh. It is better to keep them open and allow interested students to use them so they feel relaxed and reduce anxiety.
In villages, youngsters are getting involved in drugs, smoking, and other unnecessary activities. It is our duty to eradicate these evils and introduce healthy activities in society.
Gym centres can keep our youth away from anxiety and depression and improve their health. Exercise truly keeps us happy, healthy, and rejuvenated.
