Visits Nishat Water Treatment Plant
SRINAGAR: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana Monday held a series of meetings with multiple delegations in Srinagar.
The groups raised matters related to water supply schemes, forest and environmental concerns, as well as service-related issues of Rehbar-e-Janglat employees.
The delegations briefed the Minister on various bottlenecks hindering the effective service delivery in their respective areas.
The Minister issued on-spot directions to the concerned departmental wings for time bound, transparent and immediate resolution of all the issues raised by the delegations.
Reiterating Omar government’s commitment towards responsive and accountable governance, the Minister affirmed that the present dispensation remains dedicated to people-centric governance and ensuring efficient delivery of essential public services.
He assured that all genuine concerns will be addressed promptly in the larger public interest.
Meanwhile, Rana also visited the Nishat Water Treatment Plant to review its functioning and evaluate the treatment processes. He was accompanied by legislators Showkat Ganai, Ali Mohammad Dar and Ghulam Mohiuddin.
During the review, the delegation assessed the technical functioning of the machinery, performance of treatment beds and upkeep of essential infrastructure.
The Minister reiterated Omar Abdullah government’s commitment towards strengthening the water infrastructure across J&K. He emphasised that providing safe, reliable and high-quality drinking water remains a top priority. He assured that necessary support would be extended to enhance the efficiency and resilience of such vital public utilities.
