4 mineral-laden tractors seized
Pulwama, November 29: In a determined move to curb illegal mining in the district, Police in Pulwama on Saturday intensified night patrolling across vulnerable stretches.
During the intervening night of 28 and 29, Police teams carried out focused drive checks and successfully intercepted four tractors carrying illegally extracted minerals. The drivers failed to produce any valid documents for transporting the material, a police spokesman said.
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 101/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Litter and investigation has been initiated.
Meanwhile, J&K Police urged citizens to remain alert and promptly report any suspicious movement related to illegal mineral extraction or transportation. “Public cooperation is essential for safeguarding natural resources,” police said.
