Until on the onset of winters so far this year, authorities have smoothed the road that stretches to over more than 141 Kilometers, that helps people to reach their destination in a shortest period of time.
The roads are considered to be the lifelines for any region and by constructing 141 Kilometers long stretch in different areas of Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities have proved that they are very much concerned to provide every possible ease to the people.
With this big development, the people especially those living in rural and remote areas can now have access to reach anywhere with any sort of weather challenges.
This development by the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department is commendable because these aren’t are just figures but an investment for the better future for the people.
The Pre-Winter Campaign recently conducted by our organization revealed an incredible amount of understanding of how a harsh winter will affect how smooth the street is maintained in the city’s roadways.
Not only have our experiences allowed us to understand how much the roads are affected by winter weather, but they have also provided us with the ability to establish new road construction to support the positive effects of the temperate climate on the road surfaces through the entire winter season.
Our new road surface installation will provide much greater longevity to the roadways thus supporting the economy of the local community during the most extreme winter weather conditions.
Through the installation of these roads, we are providing the safe environment for school children, for employees travelling from and to their employment, and for service providers (service delivery) to perform their duties during the cold winter months.
In addition to saving time in travel (due to fewer breakdowns) for a great number of our residential population, the increased durability of our new road surfaces will result in decreased maintenance costs on vehicles for the entire community.
Most significantly, the ability to provide an improved environment for both drivers and pedestrians will improve the safety of the public.
The improvement of the supply chain will be paramount to the success of local businesses and traders within the local economic community supported through the improved infrastructure. This will ensure that goods and services may be delivered without interruption; thus, supporting the local economy and its residents.
When citizens know their community is being constructed and maintained well, they will begin to feel pride in their community, therefore fostering a community spirit and camaraderie.
The completion of nearly 141 Kilometers of paved roadway in a single organized event speaks volumes for the importance of this project. This project is an indicator of our commitment to both continuing to maintain the integrity of the City of Srinagar and to enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of the city as well as all of its surrounding communities.
