Visits Ujala Cygnus Hospital, enquires about injured
KULGAM: On the directions of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo Saturday visited Chansar Kulgam to express solidarity with the family members of Arshid Ahmad Shah, killed in Nowgam accidental blast.
Extending heartfelt condolences, Minister Sakeena expressed profound grief over the loss and assured the bereaved family of full support from the Government during this difficult time.
She said that on the directions of the Chief Minister, and as a mark of solidarity and immediate succour, the Government has announced ex-gratia relief from the CM’s Relief Fund: ₹10 lakh for each deceased and ₹1 lakh for the severely injured.
During the visit, the Minister interacted closely with the family, offering words of comfort and called the incident deeply unfortunate and shocking.
The Minister also prayed for peace for the departed soul and courage for the family to bear this irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, on the directions of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, the Minister visited Ujala Cygnus Hospital Nowgam here to enquire about the well-being of injured persons of Nowgam explosion incident and also assess medical treatment and care being extended to them.
During the visit, Minister Sakeena interacted with the attending doctors to gather first-hand assessment of medical care being extended to Nowgam explosion injured persons.
She asked the doctors and medical staff to provide best treatment to the injured persons and also take consultations from other established Government Medical institutions like SKIMS and SMHS if any need may arise.
The Health Minister also met the injured persons as well as their attending family members and took feedback from them about the medical care provided. She assured them all possible assistance and support from the government, offering words of comfort and called the incident deeply unfortunate and shocking.
