Shopian, November 13: Continuing its sustained efforts to bring absconding offenders to justice, J&K Police on Thursday said to have apprehended one absconder who had been evading arrest since 2010 in Shopian.
After consistent and dedicated efforts, J&K police succeeded in arresting Mohd Imran Wani, resident of Gadri Mohalla Shopian, presently residing at Chawalgam, Kulgam, a police spokesman said.
The accused was wanted in a case under FIR number 475/2010 under sections 379, 353, 336 RPC, 6 Forest Act of Police Station Shopian. The accused had been deliberately evading the due process of law since 2010. The arrest marks a significant success in J&K Police’s ongoing drive to trace and apprehend long-term absconders, reaffirming its commitment to justice and accountability. The arrested individuals have been produced before the Court of Law for further legal proceedings, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, J&K Police reiterated its firm resolve to uphold the rule of law and ensure public safety by acting decisively against those attempting to evade justice.
