The GoI made the investment of Rs 292.33 crores in 36 brand-new roads within the Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency it was one of the biggest contributions to the area, and came hotfooting off the heels of the announcement of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-IV (PMGSY) for 2025-26.
This funding shouldn’t be seen as a straightforward investment in rural infrastructure. It’s in fact the beginning of a monumental, far-reaching, and economically crucial project that will merge rural Baramulla with the modern world.
Well-known as being fragmented, underdeveloped, and densely populated, the villages in Baramulla have had their potential squandered for too long.
The 36 new roads will be the arteries that give these independent and rooted communities their best chance at hooking up to the country’s network, high-tech world. More than that, those roads and the eradication of their isolation will drag the entire area into the bustling modern economy.
As well-known artistic goods and small-scale manufacturing will now be able to reach wider markets and brandish themselves to the world, catapulting local craft businesses to fame and possibly even market domination.
Residents will finally get access to quality healthcare and postal services, turning these services into something trustworthy and efficient, and sending the standard of living soaring.
The existence of these roads will mean the public will be able to get their hands on hidden gems that the average tourist misses out on. Roads don’t just carry vehicles, they also mean more paths for dreams, light, hope and less gloom. The people won’t be able to get stuck anywhere anymore.
By constructing these projects, the GoI in sync with the local government of Jammu and Kashmir sends a clear message that the development in the beautiful landscapes is the priority to make sure that people here are given every possible exposure.
