Notorious fraudster held in Sopore

Srinagar, September 29: Police in Sopore on Monday said to have apprehended a notorious fraudster and proclaimed offender Zubair Ahmad Ganie alias Pina alias Mansoor Ganie, son of Abdul Rashid Ganie, resident of Rohama Rafiabad, who had been evading arrest for a long period of time.
The accused was wanted in multiple fraud and cheating cases and was facing 19 non-bailable warrants issued by various Hon’ble Courts across Jammu & Kashmir, including courts at Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara, Anantnag, Pulwama, Srinagar, and Kulgam, a police spokesman said.
Importantly, the accused had also been declared a proclaimed offender in four cases by different courts, including the Hon’ble Court of JMIC Dangiwacha, and had been on the run despite repeated legal action. With this arrest, Police has ensured that a long-time absconder and habitual fraudster is finally brought to justice, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, Police reiterated that no offender, no matter how long they evade, can’t escape the law. “Strict action will continue against such individuals to uphold the rule of law and protect the public from fraudulent activities,” the statement added.
